To say it has been a turbulent few years for NatWest, and the banking sector in general, is an understatement. The mistakes of a few have impacted on so many people, not least the committed and professional staff at the bank, who are dedicated to providing a good service for their customers. Having joined his local Worthing branch of NatWest at the tender age of 16, Gary Chown has seen the good times and the bad, including that sharp shock to the economy in 2008. “You had to grow a thick skin with all the bad press, which was a challenge when everyone here was working so hard for their customers,” he recalls.
