Due to high demand from businesses applying to its innovative Growth Hub Escalator Programme, Coast to Capital have just launched a second round of the programme for organisations that have the potential and ambition to grow.

The six-month programme is being delivered in partnership with the MDHUB, a business network that supports leaders to develop through personalised groups of like-minded peers where they find the solutions and support they need to solve business problems and expand.

The programme supports scale up businesses to achieve their potential through a series of facilitated peer to peer groups, which each month will focus on a barrier to growth with a solution driven outcome. The model, which is highly recommended by the ScaleUp Institute and 50% match-funded by the Coast to Capital Growth Hub, will support up to 40 businesses in the area with the cost to each business at just £100 per month.

In order to qualify for the programme, enterprises should have an annual turnover of between £1 million and £20 million and more than 10 employees. They must be able to demonstrate an average annual growth in employees or turnover greater than 20 per cent per annum over a three-year period. However, scaleups that do not quite fit this definition, but have strong growth potential as well as the desire to achieve scaleup growth in the short term, will also be considered. These owners will need to exhibit a “can do” attitude together with a real appetite for learning and developing.

In return, participants will receive support and training from experienced professionals; practical ways of unlocking barriers to growth; new ideas and takeaways to implement in their businesses, and the benefit of a network of like-minded business leaders to learn from, share knowledge, ideas and experience.

To find out more about the programme or to apply, please contact Lou Williams by email: lou.williams@c2cbusiness.org.uk or by phone on 01403 333840. Application forms must be completed and returned by Friday 22nd February in order to be considered by the selection panel.

Lou Williams, Growth Champion Manager at Coast to Capital said:

“According to OECD research, the UK ranks third for start-ups, but just 13th for the number of businesses that successfully scale up. We know that scale up businesses develop and grow by learning from other business leaders experiencing the same issues, so we are confident that those participating will see tangible benefits that will not only impact their businesses, but also provide a boost to the local economy.”

Fiona Shafer, Managing Director of MDHUB said:

“We are thrilled to have won this contract to work with the Growth Hub to support this economically important group of businesses. Through our extensive experience of peer to peer learning, we know that when business leaders collaborate it results in great ideas that really help to inform the strategy and future development of their businesses.”
